Credit Union submits design, construction permits

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., November 17, 2025 – Community First Credit Union, one of Florida’s largest credit unions, announces progress on its new, freestanding branch in Wildlight in Nassau County. Community First has submitted its construction permit application to Nassau County and released renderings of the new branch.

Community First purchased a 1.19-acre commercial parcel at Crosstown Avenue and State Road 200/A1A in December 2024. The lot is in Pod 4 of the Wildlight Masterplan.

Community First has applied to build a 3,100-square-foot, freestanding branch with a drive-thru, two ATMs and the credit union’s signature tower feature. Construction will commence once permits are approved with opening planned for 2026.

“Our new Wildlight Branch is part of our commitment to expanding our network to serve members where they are,” said Sam Inman, president and CEO of Community First. “This branch is designed to fit in the unique character of the growing Wildlight community and serve this new neighborhood with a modern banking experience.”

Community First has served Nassau with a branch in Yulee since 2018. It has nearly 10,000 members in the county with approximately 2,000 in the Wildlight area. The Wildlight Branch will be Community First’s third branch in Nassau County where it has a branches in the Villages of Amelia shopping center and a new location in Callahan.

Community First is expanding and improving its branch network, aiming to enhance member service. Designed with Community First's updated branch concept, its new branches have open floor plans, upgraded digital technologies, and a historical mural depicting the history of the locations.

TTV Architects designed the new branch and Auld & White Constructors will build the branch. Community First has added five new locations since 2022 when it had 19 locations across the First Coast. The credit union recently announced the start of renovation/restoration of an existing building in Murray Hill for its newest branch, the opening of its Callahan Branch and property purchases for future branches in Treaty Oaks in St. Johns and in Green Cove Springs.
