Credit Union is in the very early stages of planning for a future branch

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., March 19, 2026 – Community First Credit Union, one of Florida’s largest credit unions, announces it will continue the expansion of its branch network with a planned branch in Fernandina Beach, which will become the credit union’s fourth branch in Nassau County. Community First purchased the vacant 1.37-acre commercial lot at 2000 Sadler Rd. near the intersection of Will Hardee Drive.

Development of the branch is in the early stages of planning, but Community First intends to build a 3,100-square-foot, freestanding branch with a drive-thru, two ATMs and the credit union’s signature tower feature. Construction date and opening date have not yet been determined.

Community First is expanding and improving its branch network, aiming to enhance member service by configuring spaces to create a modern retail experience. Designed with Community First's updated branch concept, its new branches have open floor plans, upgraded digital technologies, and a historical mural depicting the history of the locations.

The credit union has served Nassau County for decades with branches in Yulee, Callahan and under construction in Wildlight. The credit union has 10,000 members who live in the county.

“Nassau County is growing and we intend to serve our members where they are,” said Sam Inman, president and CEO of Community First. “This strategically located lot in the Sadler Road commercial corridor will help us serve our Amelia Island residents with the highest quality financial services right in their neighborhood.”

Community First is undertaking its largest historic investment in its branch network with eight new branches announced or opened since 2022 when it had 19 locations.

Jonathan Heldenbrand of ProperCRE represented Community First in the transaction. Thomas W. Miller at Newmark was the listing agent for the property owned by Sadler Road Partners, LLC.
