Community First Credit Union Appoints New Audit Committee Member

Naomi Paulino joins the all-volunteer committee to oversee audits and reporting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Feb. 6, 2020 – Community First Credit Union announces it has appointed Naomi Paulino, CPA to its Audit Committee. Paulino serves as accounting manager for MODE Transportation (formerly SunteckTTS) in Jacksonville.

Paulino serves on the five-member, volunteer audit committee that ensures all audits, verifications, examinations and compliance reviews accurately reflect the status of the credit union as a well-managed and financially sound institution. Community First is examined regularly by the State of Florida’s Office of Financial Regulation and the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The internal audit department conducts risk-based internal audits and collaborates with management and presents the results of each audit to the audit committee regularly.

As accounting manager at MODE she is responsible for the oversight and management of the corporate accounting functions, including the month-end close process, analysis of the income statement and balance sheet accounts, and the cash application process. MODE Transportation is a non-asset-based transportation and logistics team of experts. Before joining MODE, Paulino served as accounting manager at Stellar Energy Americas, Inc. for nearly three years. Prior to that position, she served as a senior auditor with Ernst & Young and was an audit associate with KPMG.

Paulino has 10 years of accounting and audit experience. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business/accounting at Virginia Commonwealth University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration/management at Tarleton State University. She is also a veteran of the United States Army having served as a rocket launcher repairer at installations in the U.S. and the Republic of Korea. She is a certified public accountant.

Naomi is also passionate about investing time and resources into her community. Since moving to North Florida in 2012, she has volunteered with Feeding Northeast Florida and Wolfson Children's Hospital along with several additional volunteer programs in Duval County.
