JACKSONVILLE, Fla., March 9, 2018 – Community First Credit Union, the presenting sponsor of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, has teamed up with the organization to launch its first, co-branded Jumbo Shrimp VISA Debit Card and merchant discount card. The card is available to anyone who is a member of the credit union. Anyone who lives or works in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam or St. Johns counties is eligible to become a member of Community First.

The team debit card* was announced Friday afternoon at a news conference highlighting the upcoming Jumbo Shrimp season, along with the fan experience events and promotions. The card was unveiled by the Shrimp mascots Scampi and Southpaw along with Ken Babby, the team’s owner and Community First executives.

“We are delighted to continue our support and partnership with the Jumbo Shrimp,” said John Hirabayashi, CEO and president of Community First Credit Union. “This new card further solidifies our partnership and offers fans a unique way to show support for the home team and the small and locally-owned businesses who partner with the Jumbo Shrimp.”

The Jumbo Shrimp VISA Debit Card functions like all debit cards at the credit union and is available for any Community First share (checking) account. The card will offer discounts for Jumbo Shrimp fans. At the Baseball Grounds, the card will get fans 10 percent off merchandise purchases, a free small fountain drink with any purchase and $2 off tickets purchased on game day at the box office. A full suite of fan discounts and other perks across the region is being developed through the Jumbo Shrimp’s merchant program.

“With Community First Credit Union presenting our inaugural season, the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville had an amazing atmosphere of Affordable Family Fun,” said Jumbo Shrimp Owner Ken Babby. “We are grateful and excited to grow our partnership with the Jumbo Shrimp VISA Debit Card that rewards our fans and the families, businesses and community of Northeast Florida.”
